Where Do the Birds Go to Die? is a perpetual project that explores the silent changes and uncomfortable solace that come with non-permanently returning home. Set in the backdrop of my hometown, Sault Ste Marie, Ontario, an industrial steel town along the US/Canada Border, the project aims to document how single-industry towns force outward migration. Through my lived experience and a personal revelation that I’d likely never live in my hometown again, the project explores these themes through photography and poetry created during each migration home.
